Most surgery procedures can be performed with the CO2 Surgical Laser. The positive effects on patients is reduced blood loss, shorter surgery times, reduced postoperative swelling, reduced postoperative pain, and shorter hospitalization stays. The surgical laser allows very precise cutting of the tissue that cannot be achieved with a regular scalpel. This allows procedures to be performed that simply could not be performed in the past. The surgical laser has been used at Community Veterinary Clinic since 2002. The vast majority of surgical procedures qualify for use of the surgical laser and is recommended due to the positive patient benefits.
