Dr. Thomas grew up on small farms in Indiana and the Minnesota North Woods. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1982 from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine He spent 5 years in mixed veterinary practice treating dogs, cats, dairy and beef cattle, horses, goats, sheep and swine in Indiana and Wisconsin. As time went on he developed a stronger interest in dogs and cats and the great relationships that develop between the pet, pet owner, and veterinarian. In 1988 Dr. Thomas returned to Wisconsin, focusing strictly on dogs and cats. He enjoys all aspects of pet practice. He has been married to Brenda for 40 years and raised two children, Hilary (teacher and stay at home mom) and Tristan (Cellular and molecular biology research). They both have college degrees. Hilary received her college education at UW-Lacrosse and Tristan at UW-Oshkosh. Both have moved to the Carolinas after marrying. Hilary and her husband have 2 children, Madeline Sue and Alexandra Rae. Tristan and his wife have one daughter named Violet Statia. This makes 3 granddaughters, a Great Dane and a Miniature Schnauzer that Dr. Thomas gets to visit as often as he can in the south.
